  • Cape Cod Disability Access Directory (CCDAD). A resource to use in identifying access criteria for goods and services for travelers to the Cape Cod area.


  • Cornucopia of Disability Information (CODI). A resource for consumers and professionals by providing disability information in a wide variety of areas. Areas include education, directories and databases, statistics, government documents, computer access, legal, publications, WWW, bibliographic references, aging, politics, universal design and announcements.


  • Disabilities Bulletin Board. A message board that provides a forum for sharing information and support for various disabilities.


  • Disability Central. Provides services and information which assists and empowers those with disabilities by providing information, networking, points-of-contact and friendship.


  • Disability History Museum. focused on US primary source material from 1775-1990, covering topics that include physical, psychiatric, sensory, and cognitive disability issues across the generations


  • Department of Veterans Affairs It succeeded the Veterans Administration and has responsibility for providing federal benefits to veterans and their dependents.


  • Disabled American Veterans DAV is the official voice of America's service-connected disabled veterans. Its nationwide network of services -- free of charge to all veterans and members of their families -- is totally supported by membership dues and contributions from the American public.


  • Disability Info. provides Americans with disabilities a direct and easy connection to the information and resources needed to access opportunities to become full participants in their communities and the 21st Century workforce.


  • Disability Tables. Disability statistics for states, the US, and the World.


  • Dog AID (Assistance In Disability). Helps people with physical disabilities to train their own pet dogs, both to become generally obedient, and in suitable circumstances to work for their owners as Assistance (Service) Dogs.


  • The Employment and Training Office's Disability Employment Policy Unit A resource site sponsored by the Department of Labor.


  • Enabled Online.com. A community for persons with various disabilities, as well as their families and care givers.


  • Enablenet II: Web Server for People with Disabilities. Disability resources in Singapore.


  • Epilepsy.com is an online resource provided by The Epilepsy Project. Our mission is to inform and empower two groups of patients and their families: those facing newly diagnosed epilepsy, and those struggling with epilepsy that has resisted treatment.


  • Epilepsy Foundation The Epilepsy Foundation will ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences; and will prevent, control and cure epilepsy through research, education, advocacy and services.


  • Family Village. A global community that integrates information, resources, and communication opportunities on the Internet for persons with mental retardation and other disabilities, their families, and those that provide them services and supports.

  • JAN (Job Accommodation Network)Welcome to JAN, a free consulting service designed to increase the employability of people with disabilities by: 1) providing individualized worksite accommodations solutions, 2) providing technical assistance regarding the ADA and other disability related legislation, and 3) educating callers about self-employment options.


  • Looking for ADA info? Since 1985, ASTC has worked to raise member institutions' awareness of equity issues, and to encourage and support efforts to improve services to segments of the community that have been traditionally underrepresented in museums: members of ethnic and racial minority groups, women, and people with disabilities.

  • National Institutes of Health The National Institute of Health offers a search page to look up resources for people with disabilities.


  • NIDRR. National Institute On Disability And Rehabilitation Research under the US Department of Education.


  • On A Roll. Talk Radio on Life and Disability offers disability news updated daily.


  • Office of Disability Employment Policy The ODEP will provide the national leadership to increase employment opportunities for adults and youth with disabilities while striving to eliminate barriers to employment. ODEP will support the creation of expanded work options and meaningful employment, promote economic opportunities and independence, encourage self-determination, and support inclusion of people with disabilities in their communities.


  • Paralyzed Veterans of America The PVA, a congressionally chartered veterans service organization founded in 1946, has developed a unique expertise on a wide variety of issues involving the special needs of our members-veterans of the armed forces who have experienced spinal cord injury or dysfunction.


  • Parenting Special Needs at About.com. Education and support for all who are touched by children with special needs.


  • Parents of Special Needs Children. Information and links for children with special needs and their families in Western Canada.


  • Pine Tree Society. Offers programs such as camping, deaf services, augmentative communication/assistive technology and audiology in Maine.

  • PM&R Resources. An Internet site providing comprehensive information and links to other sites regarding practice management, health care news and medical issues of interest to the physical medicine and rehabilitation community. 


  • Potomac KnowledgeWay Project's Abilities Action Team. Provides links to local resources and information regarding issues pertinent to individuals with disabilities in the Greater Washington DC region.


  • Program Development Associates. Training resources for professionals in the disability field.


  • Reach Disability Foundation Tetra Society of North America, Disabled Sailing, Vancouver Adapted Music Society, and British Columbia Mobility Opportunities Society. Several Canadian resources sharing one site.


  • Rest Ministries. A nonprofit service ministry whose purpose is to serve people who live with chronic illness or pain, and their families, by providing spiritual, emotional, relational, and practical support.


  • RESNA RESNA is the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America. We are an interdisciplinary association of people with a common interest in technology and disability. Our purpose is to improve the potential of people with disabilities to achieve their goals through the use of technology.


  • Shake-A-LegShake-A-Leg, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 1982 to serve people with disabilities, with an emphasis placed on spinal cord and related nervous system impairments. Since this time, Shake-A-Leg has improved the lives of thousands of people through multi-faceted therapy programs that focus on improving the mind, body and spirit.

  • A to Z Assistive Technology: AZtech. Offers a complete range of market research and consulting services. AZtech specializes in the assistive technology markets for older Americans and people with disabilities, where we have established a national network with more than 80,000 consumers, clinicians, technical personnel and industry experts.


  • ABLEDATA ABLEDATA is a federally funded project whose primary mission is to provide information on assistive technology and rehabilitation equipment available from domestic and international sources to consumers, organizations, professionals, and caregivers within the United States.


  • AbilityHub. Assistive Technology for people with a disability who find operating a computer difficult.


  • Alliance for Technology Access. A network of community-based resource centers, developers and vendors dedicated to providing information and support services to children and adults with disabilities, and increasing their use of standard, assistive, and information technologies.


  • Apple's Disability Connection apple website dedicated to making computer products accessible to people with disabilities.

  • Center for Applied Special Technology is a not-for-profit organization that uses technology to expand opportunities for all people, especially those with disabilities.


  • Center for Assistive Technology (CAT) at the University at Buffalo. Conducts research, education and service to increase knowledge about assistive devices for persons with disabilities.


  • Closing The Gap. Publishes a bi-monthly newspaper and holds an annual conference, both focusing on the most current applications of microcomputer technology for people with special needs.


  • The Disability Link Barn Access Unlimited is a manufacturer/distributor of adaptive transportation and mobility equipment for people with disabilities.


  • Electrologic of America This company created an innovative rehabilitation device for individuals with spinal cord injury and other neuromuscular illnesses, with partial or no sensation. With this technology, people who ordinarily have little or no voluntary leg movement are able to actively pedal a stationary bicycle with the power of their own muscles.


  • Invacare this website is a search page for accessible devices for people with disabilities.


  • Matching Person & Technology. Works to better match users of technologies with the most appropriate devices for their use. The Institute works to enhance the situation of technology users through research, assessment, training and consultation. 


  • Synapse Adaptive. Adaptive technology, primarily software. Emphasis on speech recognition, learning, and ADA.

  • National Educational Association of Disabled Students. Canadian nationwide, cross-disability postsecondary student organization.


  • PACER Center. Parent Advocacy Coalition for Educational Rights. A nonprofit organization in Minnesota for parents of children and young adults with disabilities.


  • SEN Teacher Resources. Resources, freeware downloads, links and documents for those involved in the education of pupils with severe learning difficulties, autism and other developmental disabilities.


  • Smar-T-Pants. Markets educational toys and games for children.


  • SNOW. Special Needs Opportunity Window. A clearinghouse of practical resources and curriculum materials, a place for educators to meet and share ideas, and a place for educators to develop their professional skills.


  • Society for Disability Studies. Endeavors to redress the long-standing social oppression of disabled people and to demonstrate the centrality of disability studies to a more complete understanding of all cultures and historical periods. 


  • Speaking to Write: Realizing the Potential of Speech Recognition for Secondary Students with Disabilities a project funded by the US Department of Education, National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research, explores the use of speech recognition software by secondary students with disabilities.

  • Valdosta State University Special Services Program. Assists students with disabilities to pursue educational goals to the fullest of their abilities. The primary objectives are to provide reasonable academic accommodations and assure that campus programs and activities are accessible to disabled students.
