Position Description:
- Manage trouble tickets, verify information in the ticket, call the end user if clarification is needed, update log, etc.
- Basic operational concepts (Netbackup, TSM or Legatto).
- Basic networks, platform skills (Unix or wintel).
- Know how to remotely access and sign on to a server.
- Do 1st level diagnostics like check to see what services are running.
- Ability to modify backup configurations.
- Basic backup issues, restart a backup, check services, etc.
- Perform incremental user restores.
- Share in the off hours on-call support rotation.
- Basic understanding of tape management.
- Ability to work with vendors on problem resolution.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must have good organizational, interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
