Russ Owen receives the 1st Annual Tony Coelho Award

On December 6, 2001, Bender Consulting Services, Inc. (Bender Consulting ), a Pittsburgh-based information-technology consulting firm, presented the first annual Tony Coelho Award to Russ Owen, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) Chemical Group president.
Named after the author of the Americans With Disabilities Act, the award will be presented annually to a CEO, company or president, or government leader who has demonstrated a significant commitment to employ people with disabilities in competitive positions and worked to influence other business and/or government leaders.
Owen and CSC have exemplified promoting employment and empowerment of people with disabilities on a daily basis. He says, "I look forward to the day when awards are not given for employing people with disabilities. Rather, I hope that soon the practice will become a natural part of business, because it is the right thing to do."
