Elizabeth Project
Joyce Bender established the Elizabeth Project in 2003, in an effort to employ people with intellectual disabilities in competitive career opportunities.
As an example of success, Bender Consulting Services has placed an individual in the mail room operations of Highmark, Inc., who continues to exceed expectations, in adding business value. Bender Consulting is continuing to work with its customers including Highmark, Inc., CSC, and Bayer Corporation to identify opportunities for this targeted population of talented individuals. Bender has partnered with Achieva, headquarted in Pittsburgh, PA, which is an organization that provides a number of programs and services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities and their families.
